Doylestown workshop to help parents become social media-savvy

The internet and social media is a rapidly changing source of entertainment, information and more, and a Doylestown workshop has been planned that will give parents tools they can use to help their sons and daughters navigate this media safely.

The session, which will be facilitated by Josh Ochs, will equip parents with a series of practical tips that they can implement in their own family to keep their children safe online. The information may also be of use to educators and others who work with young people, and it is part of the Parent Positive Speaker series, which is being offered to the community courtesy of the CB Family YMCA, Doylestown Health, the CB School District and CB Cares.

In an effort to make the event as accessible as possible, the organizers will be offering free childcare during the workshop. These who wish to make use of this service are asked to indicate this when their register to participate, as only a limited number of spaces is available. Digital copying can be used by a printer to create handouts for distribution during a community based information session such as this.

The Parent Positive Social Media Safety Presentation will be held on November 16th in the auditorium of Lenape Middle School. More information about this initiative can be found on the Doylestown Health website.
