Doylestown looks to locals for nationwide vote

Residents of Doylestown are invited to vote online to help their city reach the top of the pile.

An online contest is being held to find the best main street in America, and Doylestown has made it all the way to the quarterfinals.

The America’s Main Streets competition, which is being sponsored by STIHL, Business Link, and a variety of other companies and organizations, has been set up to help promote the nation’s downtown areas and the role they play in their respective communities.

Doylestown was chosen by popular vote to be among the top 25 towns and cities, and is asking those who live there, or who simply love its main street, to make their voices heard. The winner will receive a prize package that includes Gift Certificates for STIHL, Tire Pros, Do it Best Corp., PPG Pittsburgh Paints, a small business social media “neighborhood” with Alignable, a one-of-a-kind plaque, and bragging rights. It will also be able to use the distinction of being the very best on the Promotional Products it uses to market itself to the world.

Anyone who would like to either cast their vote, view the cities that are in the top 25, or simply find out more is invited to visit the America’s Main Streets website. Votes must be in by May 29, and the winner will be announced on June 3.
