Doylestown invited to walk back in time

An event on the agenda for Doylestown this fall will see a well-known historical character come to life to share his views on local and national history, among other topics.

Guests at ‘The Witty Ben Franklin Dinner and Re-enactment’ will be treated to an evening with a caricature of Ben Franklin, who was regarded by many as a gifted speaker and historian. Those who plan on being included in the occasion are welcome to wear period costumes, and a three-course dinner will be served along with a colonial-style drink.

As the attendees enjoy their meal, they will be regaled by ‘Ben Franklin’, who will be recounting tales of his life and the history of the area and country. The organizers noted that the impersonator who will be taking to the stage is one of the best, and he will be incorporating Franklin’s mannerism, looks, and wit into his performance. There will also be live music for the diners to enjoy.

The ticket price for this walk back in history is $80 each, and the planners noted that they expect them to sell quickly. A local banner printing service can craft a variety of period decorations for this sort of function.

New Hope’s Logan Inn will be hosting event on November 7. It is being brought to the community courtesy of Mountaintop Marketing.
