Doylestown group schedules volunteer training sessions

A Doylestown not-for-profit-group believes everyone can help when it comes to tackling homelessness, and it is seeking compassionate hands.

The Coalition to Shelter and Support the Homeless depends on the kindness of volunteers, and it has scheduled training dates for the upcoming months. In-person and online options are available, and those interested can choose the one that best fits their learning style and schedule.

Each of the training events will run for two hours, and the in-person version will be held at different locations in the community. There is also a need for drivers and van attendants, and those interested will be able to stay after the regular session to be trained. Volunteers will be helping at the shelter on nights when the temperature falls below 28°F. It is also open on Wednesdays no matter the weather.

For people who want to help out in their community but are unsure where to start, attending a training activity can be a useful introduction, and information packets that include materials prepared by a brochure printing company may be distributed during an event.

The Coalition to Shelter and Support the Homeless has scheduled its Code Blue training for November 3, 14, 23, and also January 22. More information about the location for the sessions can be found on its Patch listing.
