Doylestown Farmers Market set to open for another season

Doylestown will bid spring a warm welcome with the opening of its farmers’ market. To help mark the occasion, some special events have been planned.

The market will feature a book exchange, as well as live music, knife sharpening, and other entertainment. It is expected that as many as two dozen vendors will be on hand with everything from vegetables, fruit, and different types of produce, to pre-made treats and other foods. There will also be eggs, maple syrup, milks, coffee beans, jams and preserves, herbs, plants and cut flowers, and also meats like turkey, chicken, beef, pork, lamb, and goat.

Those who enjoy browsing through crafts and other handmade items will be able to peruse the works of local craftspeople, including some made from alpaca wool. There will also be soaps, toiletries, and a variety of other herbal products available for purchase.

For the past 41 years, the market has been held each summer through the sponsorship of the Buckingham Township Civic Association. Banners, signage, and decorations for events such as this can be produced by a printer. These can be made from durable materials so they can withstand being outdoors and the exposure to the elements this entails.

The opening date for the Doylestown Farmers’ Market will be April 16, whatever the weather. It will run from 7:00 am until 12:00 pm and all are welcome.
