Doylestown cookery class to introduce hearty fare

Doylestown home chefs who would like to add some new dishes to their repertoire will soon be able to do so.

The staff at Conquering Cuisine has organized an evening class that will introduce ticketholders to several different soups and stews. The organizers explained that as these dishes often taste better the next day, they may be a good choice for busy families, and can help get the most out of a food budget.

Using locally sourced ingredients, the instructor will demonstrate a variety of cooking techniques, and they will show how to turn some basic ingredients into a tasty meal. Recipes from several different regions of the world will be introduced, and these include Thai curry and Cajun gumbo. Stuffed beef and roasted squash soup will round out the menu. Tickets for the function are $60 each, and they need to be purchased ahead of time.

Supplying learners in a cookery class with printed recipe cards will make it easier to recreate the dishes in the comfort of their own kitchen, and these may be ordered from area Stationery printers.

This introduction to comforting foods for the cold winter nights will be held on Tuesday, January 4, starting at 7:00 pm. It will be a demonstration class, and the venue for the occasion is 378 North Main Street in Doylestown.
