Ohio’s distance runners will want to start breaking in this season’s shoes and begin training, as an ultra-distance running event is nearly set to kick off in Lewis Center.
The Last Buckeye Standing Backyard Ultra, which is being put together by HPF Racing, is opening online enrollment to runners in the Lewis Center area who want to put their stamina and mental fortitude to the test. The event is open to runners of all experience levels and abilities, with runners traversing a 4.167-mile loop.
Each runner has one hour to complete the loop, with those who fail being eliminated from the competition. Runners are welcome to complete the loop at their chosen pace. A new hour-long run will begin on the hour at every hour. Flyer printing is an easy way to spread awareness of events like this via Mailing or placing the Flyers in busy areas throughout the community.
The challenge will force participants to choose a strategy centered on running hard to enjoy more rest, or taking a more leisurely approach to the race. Spectators and supporters are welcome to join and cheer on their friends and family.
Alum Creek State Park in Lewis Center will host the running event, which is scheduled to begin on Saturday, August 8, at 7:00 AM. Interested competitors can reserve a spot online.
