What's Happening in Lewis Center, OH…

Orange Township updating plan

Orange Township, which includes Lewis Center, is growing rapidly, and officials from all levels of government believe the time is right to update the 2010 Comprehensive Land Use Plan.

To that end, the Township is collaborating with students who are in the Master of City & Regional Planning (MCRP) program at Ohio State University, to update the Comprehensive Land Use Plan first published in 2010.

One extremely important part of the update will be the input from community members, who are being asked for the ideas and comments. Officials intend the plan to be created in such a way that residents have input into it, so that they will be able to support it.

To meet this goal, public meetings are taking place at the Orange Township Hall. The process is already underway, but there is still time for people to get to one last meeting with their ideas and concerns.

The last public meeting on the land use plan will be held on Monday, December 5, beginning at 7:00 pm, at the Orange Township Hall. Those residents who cannot attend in person are encouraged to contact the Planning & Zoning Director, Michele Boni, either by phone at 740-548-5430, or via email at mboni@orangetwp.org.

When this type of meeting is scheduled, officials can help everyone remain focused by working with a flyer printing company to create an agenda to be distributed to attendees.
