Lewis Center organization clubs in for golf event

Ohio State University's Wexner Medical Center/Carepoint Lewis Center, located in Lewis Center, is once again sponsoring a golf outing to benefit the Olentangy Education Foundation (OEF).

This is the fifteenth year the event has been held, and the third time it has been sponsored by Wexner. Monies raised at the event go help fund OEF's mission, which is to improve academic performance in Olentangy Schools by providing grants to teachers working with innovative programs not already accounted for in the school district's budget.

In addition, some of the funds raised will go to OEF scholarships, which it awards to graduating seniors. The organization has already made scholarships and grants totaling over $50,000 in 2014. Since 2001, it has awarded more than $550,000 to these endeavors.

Organizers encourage everyone to join them for the day, play golf, make new acquaintances, and develop contacts within the community. The Board of Trustees of the OEF has said in a statement that it wants to thank participants for their support of the golf outing and other events, without which it could not continue supporting teachers, students, and staff in Olentangy Schools.

The 15th Annual OEF Golf Outing is scheduled for Monday, September 22nd, and will take place at the Lakes Golf & Country Club in Westerville. Registration is open now. OEF officials could work with a banner printing company in preparation for the event.
