What's Happening in Lewis Center, OH…

Lewis Center makes a run in the night

An annual 10k celebrating the emergence of fireflies for summer is to be held in Lewis Center this June.

The event is the Sunset Sunrise, Firefly Overnight Endurance Challenge, and 10k Trail Race. It will feature a variety of race events suitable for the entire family. The event will last the entire night and end the following morning. The race will offer 12 hours of uninterrupted, supported running as participants enjoy the scenic night view lit by fireflies. Runners are welcome to stop by the trail’s camping grounds for the night.

The organizers advise attendees that flashlights will be mandatory. Additionally, those in attendance are encouraged to use paint, glowsticks, and reflective gear. There will also be ample space for spectators and supporters to set up camp throughout the night. Food and beverages will be available for sale.

The cost for registration for this event will vary based on the preferred race package. Further information is available on the Find a Race listing. Packet pickup for the event may take place up to two days prior to the event at Fleet Feet Sports.

Flyer printing can be a great way to advertise the event and get support from the local community for events such as this.

The race will take place on June 24 and 25 at the Rocks and Roots Trail in Lewis Center.
