Lewis Center hosts charity event

A charity-themed 5k run will be held in Lewis Center this March.

The name of the event is Pi Day. It is being held to aid educational science and mathematics programs for students and teachers.

Pi,represented by the Greek letter π, refers to the mathematical constant of 3.14, which is central to many theories in mathematics and science. The 5k also coincides with the internationally celebrated day of the same name, which falls on March 14 (this being written as 3/14).

For this event, organizers have selected a course 3.14 miles long. Patrons can also look forward to exciting math-themed rewards such as the 3.14 finishers medal. Each participant receives one after the race is complete.

This event is put on by the Teaching and Learning Collaborative, which offers science and math education to children at the elementary level. It does this through numerous programs and engaging afterschool activities.

Participants must register for this event, costing $40 for both the virtual and in-person sessions. Registration guarantees access to an event T-shirt and a finishers medal. The details for registration are on the event's website.

Banner printing can be a great way to highlight participants of events such as these.

Pi Day will be held from March 12 to March 15 at 9466 Columbus Pike, Lewis Center Ohio 43035. Packet pickups begin at 7:30 am on race day. The race begins at 9:00 am.
