Childrens day camp busts boredom

A gaming day camp will be offered by a Lewis Centre education institute next month. The interactive sessions have been designed for children in grade six.

Offered by the RootED Learning and Development Center, children will be taken through a series of gaming experiences to help them improve their organization, problem solving, time management, and impulse control skills. Social skills, like good sportsmanship, communication with peers and handling constructive criticism, will also be developed by this event. Math skills are important for successful gaming, and children will learn how to use mathematics to plan a strategy to solve the game. In addition, participants will have the opportunity to design their own boardgame.

The camp includes six sessions, all led by licensed Educational Therapists and Intervention Specialists for kindergarten through to grade 12. The camp is open for children in grade six, of any skill level.

The RootEd Learning and Development Center strives to empower children and teenagers. Its focus is on motivating students to complete homework, develop their study skills, enhance abilities to learn in a virtual setting, and develop skills to regulate their emotions independently. They will also tutor students on specific subjects like reading, math and spelling. Brochure printing may be used as a means of communicating all the programs offered by a centre like this.

The gamer day camp will be offered from 4:00 to 6:00 PM on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays beginning on June 16, and ending on June 25. The total cost for the six sessions is $267.99. Registration in advance via Eventbrite is required.
