Liberty Center turns a year old

Liberty Center, a mixed-use facility in Liberty Township, celebrated its first anniversary on last Saturday, October 22.

Since it opened, dozens of restaurants and stores have moved into the complex, which cost $350 million. As a mixed-used development, it also has office space, and apartment units for rent. The center has had a huge impact on the way people shop, enjoy entertainment, and dine. In addition, the project brought hundreds of jobs to areas like Lebanon. Six new businesses will be opening before the end of the year, including a dentist’s office.

The center is unusual, as it is laid out like a town or village, with a number of streets winding through the complex. It has two apartment buildings, the Grant and the Fillmore, as part of the development, meaning residents can walk out their front doors to restaurants, shops, and theaters. The Grant even boasts an in-house restaurant—the Northstar Café is on the first floor, and serves signature dishes such as lemon ricotta pancakes and cathead biscuits. Other eateries in the center include Five Guys Burgers and Fries, the Kona Grill, and Nori Japan.

Liberty Center is also the site of various celebrations. It is holding a ‘Boo Fest’ this Saturday, October 29 as part of the Halloween fun, and a tree lighting on November 18 to usher in the holidays.
