Jane Austen-themed ball bring merriment to Lebanon

Lebanon residents who long to bring their favorite Jane Austen novels to life are in luck, as a themed ball is being organized in town.

The Jane Austen Society of North America is planning its Twelfth Night Ball to bring Regency Era dancing, card games, and dinner to attendees. The annual event will offer dancing instruction to guests who wish to learn the finer points of Regency Era dances, and the card games will all be accurate to the period to add to the immersive experience.

Vegetarian dinner options will be available in the form of baked acorn squash, which is also gluten-free, stuffed with cranberries and quinoa. The other dinner option is a buffet line, which will serve herb-crusted pork loin, roasted chicken breast, and mashed Yukon potatoes. Print shops can provide single-use Menus to provide more information on each food item at such events.

Attendees are encouraged to dress in festive and formal attire, along with their best dancing shoes. The dinner will run from 5:30 to 6:30 PM, followed by a break before segueing into two hours of playing cards and dancing. Spots at the ball are limited.

The Armstrong Event Center in Lebanon will host the ball on Saturday, January 10th, from 5:00 to 9:00 PM. Tickets are $65 for JASNA members and $70 for non-members online.
