Lebanon residents are invited to get rid of any yard waste they may have at an upcoming event. The city has scheduled a drop-off day, at which time people can bring yard waste to a facility on Main Street, and place it in the dumpsters that will be provided at the site. According to city officials, yard waste is comprised of grass, clipping, brush, and small limbs.
Lebanon residents also have the option of having yard waste picked up as part of the city’s regular curbside recycling and trash pick-ups, but when waste is collected in this way, it’s handled somewhat differently. When residents put waste by the curb, they’re asked to make sure there are no branches longer than six feet in the waste. Also, non-organic materials, ornamental grass, and lawn grass are not picked up from curbside, though garden residue, branches, and hedge trimmings are.
The Yard Waste Drop-Off Day is scheduled for September 9, 2017, from 5 am until 5 pm. The location is Public Works, at 580 West Main Street in Lebanon.
Since there are a number of details associated with either of these disposal methods, the city might consider working with a flyer printing company to create a mailer for residents that clearly outlines their options, and the guidelines they need to follow, either in putting waste curbside, or dropping it off.
