Lebanon's retail sector is booming, so much so that one business is expanding significantly. According to a recent news item, Oley Snowden, who owns both Mulberry Street Antiques and Snowden Group II, is expanding the former.
Snowden purchased a 10,700 sq ft building over the street from his current store. The purchase will allow him to add a space to handle large furniture. The site he just bought includes a bar that comprises 3,000 sq ft, which he plans to gut completely and use for retail sales.
Snowden says Lebanon has transformed significantly in the past five years, and continues to show amazing growth as a place where businesses and retail concerns can thrive. He asserts that several people who own downtown properties continue to make upgrades to their facilities.
A new deli is slated to open in another building Snowden owns. The Royce Cafe and Coffeehouse will fill a 2,000 sq ft site in a building at 30 Mulberry Street, a few doors from the antique store. Increasing the number of coffee shops and restaurants will continue to build a vibrant downtown for Lebanon.
Snowden, as well as other downtown merchants, could work with brochure printers to create a booklet for distribution to visitors and residents, listing the places to visit in downtown Lebanon. A map, plus information about parking, would further enhance a visitor's experience.
