Lebanon residents can dispose of yard waste

Lebanon is offering residents two ways to dispose of yard waste, always a difficult item to handle, by scheduling a second day for this project to take place.

Residents will be able to drop off their yard waste at a city facility, or they can have it collected. If they decide to drop it off themselves, they will need to go to the Municipal Service Facility at 580 West Main Street. Yard waste includes clippings, grass, brush, and small limbs. Residents bringing the material to the site are asked to put it in the dumpsters provided.

If residents prefer, Rumpke will collect the waste with the rest of the items it picks up from curbside. Yard waste must be bagged, or bundled into sections no longer than four feet.

Ohio manages its solid waste in order to make certain that it has the capacity to dispose of it adequately, so as to reduce the amount put into landfills. The Ohio EPA, in conjunction with the Materials Management Advisory Council, has adopted a plan for the entire state that governs recycling and waste reduction. Residents are urged to do their part to help reduce waste.

The date for dropping off yard waste is September 12 between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm. Flyer printing can be used to create material reminding residents of the date and regulations governing events like this.
