Lebanon rail ride on track from October

According to an item on the Lebanon, Mason & Monroe (LM&M) Railroad website, it is almost time for the annual Pumpkin Patch Express trains to start their runs.

The LM&M trains leave from the station in Lebanon, carrying passengers across Warren County to the Schappacher Farm, located in Mason, Ohio.

An actual working farm, Schappacher invites visitors to walk through the facilities to see what farming is like. Visitors can also pet animals, figure out the corn maze, and choose a small pumpkin, suitable for making pies, to take with them. Hungry guests can purchase snacks fresh from the farm at the Schappacher Farm Barn.

In addition, those people who want to buy a larger pumpkin at the farm may do so and take it back on the train with them. If the pumpkin is so large it cannot be safely transported by rail, purchasers can make arrangements for it to be held on site until they can pick it up.

Trains are scheduled to run every Saturday and Sunday in October, departing at 9.45 am, 1:00 pm, and 4.15 pm. The last trains of the season run on November 1, at 9:45 am and 1:00 pm, but with no 4:15 pm service. Brochure printers could be used to help those traveling to plan their day in advance.
