Lebanon hosts virtual marathon

Countryside YMCA will host an indoor cycling marathon this winter.

Called ‘Southwest Ohio Indoor Cycling Time Trials’, this race is a series of charity events being held during the holiday season. Each occasion benefits different charities, and for this staging, proceeds will go towards the Countryside YMCA Annual Campaign. If they wish to, attendees can also support a charity of their choosing with their donations.

The event is being held indoors to prevent unforeseen circumstances, such as turbulent weather, from affecting participants. Despite the setting, participants can still look forward to all the excitement of cycling outdoors. There will be customized simulations on each bike for the participants. The adjustment will be made based on a person’s weight, speed, and slope of the virtual terrain.

Those entering should bring their bikes, water bottles, and other equipment for the race. They should also bring payment if they have not done so in advance. The cost is $25 per race. Signup can be completed on the cycling center's website.

The location will be at the Countryside YMCA, found at 1699 Deerfield Roadd, Lebanon, Ohio 45036. The next scheduled events are January 9 and 23, 2022. Races will also be held February 6 and 20. The races will be held each hour beginning at 9:00 am and ending at 3:00 pm.
