Lebanon company evolves to offer full package

JBM Envelope Company, located on Henkle Drive, has a specialty product: open-ended Envelopes, the kind that are used to hold hotel keys. According to an October 6 news article, the company, which has been in business for nearly thirty years, has managed to survive the economic downturn, but has decided to reinvent itself, and is investing millions in doing so.

The firm makes as many as six million Envelopes per day for niche markets such as vegetable and flower seed packets, parking tickets, and those Envelopes bank tellers use at drive-through windows.

Last year, JBM set up a new division to make customized Packaging like folding cups. The goals here are to introduce Packaging products to new markets, as well as to expand the company's existing business.

Dan Puthoff, JBM's Chief Operating Officer, said JBM wanted its end users to utilize its products in a way that is meaningful to them. He added that JBM could potentially expand into other products for Packaging, such as Boxes.

Marcus Sheanshang, CEO of JBM, said the move to Packaging shouldn't be interpreted as JBM being uneasy; rather, the company is getting prepared to pursue different opportunities as they arise.

JBM officials might consider working with a catalog printing company, to create a list of their new products, for Mailing to current customers as well as those they hope to serve in future.
