Educational nature programs offered in Lebanon

Lebanon residents who are interested in nature have a chance to take part in programs designed to help them explore and understand the natural world. The series of programs includes both lectures and nature walks, and they all take place in Miller Ecological Park in Lebanon.

The upcoming program discusses ecological concepts. Attendees will discuss ecology, what it means, and how various ecological systems coexist. Participants will be able to walk along the park's trails and examine habitats in prairie restoration areas, beside a small creek, and the way plant life has changed in areas once used for agriculture. The presenters are naturalists Donna Show and Peggy Logue.

The next program is titled ‘Wildflowers, Trees, Shrubs, and Grasses’ and gives participants the chance to examine the many plants that grow in Miller Park. The event is presented by Bob Henn, a biologist who wrote the book ‘Wildflowers of Ohio’.

The last program in the series will help participants learn to take great nature photos. Attendees are urged to bring their cameras along, and host Jim Ludwick, who is a naturalist and nature photographer, will help people decide what shots to take.

The program on ecological concepts is on June 10, the wildflower day is July 8, and nature photography is slated for August 12.

For events like this, organizers can work with a flyer printing company, which can create handouts to help participants enjoy the outing.
