Wait is over as South Hamilton Crossing sets date for dedication

Hamilton residents have been discussing the need for a widened roadway and overpass to link part of the city in proximity to the Ohio 4 area with the Miami University Hamilton campus area, as well as Hamilton’s west side.

The project, known as South Hamilton Crossing, is finally coming to fruition with a dedication time set for 9:00 am on August 11. The Saturday was chosen to enable more people to attend, according to Carla Fiehrer, a Hamilton City Council member, and a morning dedication time was selected to avoid the heat of the day.

The dedication will highlight the many years it has taken to get the South Hamilton Crossing to become a reality by including antique cars and fire engines. It is unclear when exactly the road will be opened, but a few days after the dedication it is likely that a ribbon-cutting ceremony will take place. The deadline for the project’s completion is December 31.

Printing services will likely be hearing from Hamilton businesses that may potentially be affected by the project and wish to make promotional adjustments.

The projected $30m project provides an effective link between University Boulevard and Ohio 4, providing improved access to Vora Technology Park and the Miami campus. Additionally, it will highlight the potential land available for development at University Commerce Park, which the city of Hamilton owns.
