Spooky Nook receives support of $1.5M from BCVB

Another pledge has been obtained by the city of Hamilton on behalf of Spooky Nook, the convention center and sports facility to be located at what used to be the Champion Paper building.

Recently, a $1.5 million contribution was approved by the Butler County Visitors Bureau (BCVB) to be paid in installments over 15 years. The payments, according to executive director of the BCVB Mark Hecquet, will be per year: $75,000 for the first five, $100,000 for the next five and $125,000 for the remaining five.

BCVB operates via hotel taxes and this project should significantly increase hotel revenue. It is anticipated that Spooky Nook will attract tournament participants and their supporters from as far away as three or more hours by car. Moreover, the facility will be home to the second largest convention center in the Greater Cincinnati area.

Projects of this magnitude often result in local businesses consulting with local Print shops about making changing to their marketing strategy, such as including Promotional Products.

Total cost of the Spooky Nook complex, which will be comprised of a fitness center, sports complex, hotel, brewery and restaurants as well as meeting and event space, is projected to be $144 million.

Although the project broke ground October 2018, it may not appear as far along as the public might anticipate, but a lot of pre-construction work had to be completed first.
