As is the case with most events in 2020, this year’s Operation Pumpkin will have a slightly different look in response to this year’s coronavirus outbreak.
Pumpkin festivals are some of the most popular fall events in Ohio. Each year Hamilton’s own Operation Pumpkin has drawn people to downtown Hamilton, boosting small retail businesses, breweries, and restaurants.
Poster printing services are one of the most popular ways of promoting festivals.
Over the past few months, the committee in charge of Operation Pumpkin has been considering how best to go forward with this year’s festival. Putting the safety of festival attendees and participating businesses had to come first, yet the festival was going to be even more important to the local business community this year.
By making a few minor adjustments, this year’s pumpkin festival in Hamilton will still happen. The dates have been changed to October 8-10 (October 9-11 were the original planned dates) and the areas containing the festival has been expanded to include businesses on Main and High Street. The organizers regret that the Lil Miss Pumpkin competitions will not be taking place this year, nor will the Pet Parade, and vendors will not be participating.
This year’s event will also see new pumpkin weight-off, but plenty of pumpkins will still be on hand and festive music will fill the streets.
