Recently, around 30 people tuned in to the first of the Greater Hamilton Chamber of Commerce’s monthly online conversations regarding business.
The first live podcast discussion was led by chamber member Byron Skaggs, who is a certified professional business coach. The conversation centered on a book by Simon Sinek, titled ‘Start with Why’. Among the 30 online participants one was from Cairo, Egypt, while an additional 15 watched onsite instead of online.
Also participating in ‘The Conversation’ podcast was Jim Goodman, one of Municipal Brew Works five owners. Goodman discussed the micro-brewing industry in general, as well as his own enterprise in particular.
Craft beers are often brewed with a particular purpose in mind, such as a local event or charity. Banner printing is frequently utilized to announce the return of a specific seasonal brew, or a beer created for a special event or to raise money for charity.
Municipal Brew Works has been in operation over two years, and Goodman explained about the craft-brewing industry’s double-digit growth over the last several years. Prior to 2012 Ohio had around 40 craft breweries, and that number has jumped to over 200 today.
Currently, in the Greater Cincinnati area there are more than 53 craft breweries, but soon that number is expected to increase to 65. According to Goodman, micro-brewing is part of a “hyper-localization” trend and brings people together in a tasting room or tap room.
