Cancer care services to expand at Fort Hamilton Hospital

A sum of $5m has been set aside for the renovation of Fort Hamilton Hospital to expand its cancer care services and accommodate the associated new technology.

The design for the new cancer care space at the Hamilton hospital follows a prototype created for patients, by patients. The physician office building’s third floor on the hospital campus is to undergo a full remodel, the result of which will be 16 semi-private and private infusion bays for chemotherapy patients, 10 clinical examination rooms, and the most up-to-date technology for radiation therapy.

A banner printing service is often employed to promote a significant change in a hospital’s services.

The “for patients, by patients” model can be traced back to the Kettering Medical Center campus’s Kettering Cancer Center. The Kettering Health Network formed a patient advisory council to bring cancer patients and survivors into the development process for the Cancer Center.

A nonprofit network comprising eight hospitals in southwest Ohio, Kettering Health Network contains 11 emergency departments, as well as 120 outpatient facilities. Cancer service providers at Fort Hamilton Hospital are a part of the Kettering Health Network and therefore can partner with Kettering Cancer Center’s cancer care experts.

Construction is anticipated to be completed during the spring of 2019, at which time cancer patients will be able to access all of the hospital’s services and physicians at a single location.
