Theatre Fairfield presents Love and Imagination online

Theatre Fairfield has just finished its first online project, “Titus Online” and is getting ready for the second presentation, “Love and Imagination” which is coming toward the end of October.

Love and Imagination is group of selected monologues by Barrie Cole and five short plays by David Ives. The six contemporary monologues will be from pieces taken from Mr. Cole’s “Reverse Gossip.” They are staged as one-sided telephone conversations.

Ives’ work is known for its enchanting, side-spitting comedy and incisively intelligent content. Some of his more acclaimed one act plays include Long ago and Far Away, The Art of the Fugue, and English Made Simple. He has also penned Philip Glass Buys a Loaf of Bread, Sure Thing, and Time Flies.

Those interested in purchasing tickets can get them at the theater’s website at its Quick Center Box Office. General admission will be $10 and student tickets will be $5.

Love and Imagination will be presented Friday, October 23 at 8:00 pm; Saturday, October 24 at 8:00 pm; and Sunday, October 25 at 1:00 pm on video calling tool Zoom. The performances will last 90 minutes.

The following performance will be “Director’s Cut,” which consists of one-act plays completely put together by students. This will be on Zoom from December 4 through 6.

Since all of the theater’s nine performances for the fall season have gone online, this is the sort of situation where new brochure printing might be needed to explain the changes.
