Fairfield residents have new secure storage

A new business in Fairfield Township promises customers a secure, safe place to store their possessions.

Last month, AAA Self Secured Storage opened on Princeton Road. The site comprises eight acres secured with a gate. It gives users 24-hour access to their storage units, which have individual alarms.

Each tenant has an access code for their alarm. When they enter the code at the security gate of the facility, their alarm is disabled; they stop at the gate on the way out and re-enter the code, which then rearms the system.

Mike Niehaus is the manager of the units, and says the system lets him know who is entering or leaving the facility. It also sounds a siren if someone tries to enter a unit without a code.

Niehaus notes that having individual alarms on the storage units is not usual in the industry, but it is one of the state-of-the-art features available at AAA. They also use IP video cameras for surveillance, which are better than analog cameras, according to Niehaus. He also says the cameras keep a record of all movement at the site.

At present, Niehaus and two part-time employees staff the facility, but he hopes to grow from the current four buildings, which offer 45,000 square feet of storage space, to 11 buildings offering 150,000 square feet.

Companies like these can benefit by working with flyer printing companies, which can create informative mailers for wide distribution.
