Pacific Manufacturing Ohio, an auto parts supplier, is planning a $50m expansion during 2016.
Pacific Manufacturing employs about 540 workers, making it one of the largest employers in Fairfield. The company makes molded plastic and metal stamping products for automobiles, as well as tire valve products. At the present time, Pacific has three facilities in Fairfield, along Seward Road.
Fairfield's economic development manager, Greg Kathman, says Pacific's plan to expand and remain in town is a huge positive development for the community. He notes that the company has been a good corporate citizen for 25 years, and supports Fairfield in many different ways.
Pacific plans to enlarge its manufacturing facility at 8935 Seward Road by adding a building expansion comprising 72,000 square feet. Most of the money for the expansion will be invested in equipment, particularly new stamping machines. The project could add as many as 60 new jobs in the next 36 months.
The Fairfield City Council will discuss whether or not to give the expansion a seven-year, 65% abatement on its property taxes to support the improvements to its physical plant. In lieu of tax payments, Pacific would make a fixed payment to Butler Technology, and the Fairfield school district.
Pacific management might want to create Brochures about the company, and the positions that might be open, to encourage jobseekers in the area.
