Broken Arrow, a tribute band for Neil Young, is headed by Joe Mass, whose delivery is a perfect recreation of Young's performances. The backing band makes audiences feel as if they are watching the original group, as Broken Arrow performs both the acoustic material, and the hard rock from the Crazy Horse era. At times, they do some jamming and put their own spin on the classic arrangements.
Neil Young originally got his start in Canada in the 1960s, and joined Buffalo Springfield in Los Angeles. He has worked with a number of bands including Pearl Jam; Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young; and Crazy Horse. He has won three Grammys, seven Juno Awards, and was nominated for an Oscar for his song “Philadelphia,” from the movie by the same name.
A review of Broken Arrow says:
“I have been to a few hundred concerts. It feels very strange to state that this concert (i.e. a tribute band) was one of the best concerts I have ever attended - but it is true. Joe Mass' guitar playing must be experienced and heard! . . . Broken Arrow is a must see!”
Broken Arrow will be at the Ludlow Garage in Cincinnati, a short drive from Fairfield, on April 15, at 8.30 pm. Poster printing is frequently used to publicize events like this.
