Last month of art basics workshop

Wild Goose Creative’s “Basic Art 101” workshops will finish in June.

Wild Goose Creative gives art lessons and other art-related events for those living in Columbus. Basic Art 101 is an introduction to painting with different media, which include oil, acrylic, and watercolor. For June, Wild Goose's final workshop will focus on watercolor paintings.

The workshop will be led by Chantal Stone, a self-trained artist with multimedia experience. She will go over the fundamentals of using watercolor, including what paint surfaces to use, the best paintbrushes for watercolor, and how to use grounds. After learning the basics, students can start creating their own watercolor paintings. Following COVID-19 procedures, class size will be limited to a maximum of 10 people.

Students can choose to bring their own materials or purchase supplies from the organizers. For those looking to bring their materials, a supply list will be posted for reference. Other learning materials will likely be provided, likely with the help of printing services.

The workshop will take place on June 2 between 6:30 PM and 8:30 PM. Registration for the event is $25 for entrants with their own materials and $40 for anyone purchasing materials from Wild Goose. Entrants can find the workshop on 400 West Rich Street. Wild Goose will continue to provide workshops throughout the year for those interested.
