In honor of Armed Forces Day, Columbus residents have been invited to lace up their sneakers and hit the pavement, and those who do will be treated to samples of beer supplied by a variety of breweries.
Registrants in the 5th annual Columbus Beer Run will be spending their morning running or walking their way along the planned route, and as they go, they will be able to try a variety of beers. These sampling stations will be set up every half mile, and the agenda for the day includes the presentation of awards.
The route for the activity will be approximately one and a half miles, and at the finish line, registrants will be able to enjoy even more fun. There will be food, music, and other excitement as well, as even more beer, and the monies raised during the day will be donated to the Buckeye Purple Heart Foundation. Prizes will be presented to the individuals, couples, and teams with the best costumes, and everyone will go home with the Corporate Gifts of a glass and tee shirt. These will both be printed with a special graphic design.
The 5th annual Columbus Beer Run will be saluting veterans and currently serving members on Saturday, May 18. Registration will begin at 8:00 am at 800 Goodale Road in Columbus, and the runners and walkers will depart at 10:00 am.
