Columbus plans to celebrate Independence Day

Old-fashioned fun is planned for Columbus residents and visitors, as preparations for the 2020 Independence Day celebrations get underway.

Patriotism will flow abundantly with a procession, speeches, and meeting candidates as they campaign for office. An 1890s patriotic singing session rallies everyone to sing along.

One of the most popular activities at this annual event is the pie-eating contest. Another highly anticipated event is a historical period march that supports the right of women to vote. A vintage baseball game featuring the Ohio Village Muffins is also on the agenda.

Banner printing is one way to create signage for large outdoor events. The Banners attract attention quickly and can concisely convey important information like event dates, locations, parking, concessions and other points of interest.

The Columbus Independence Day festival will take place on Sunday, July 5 from 10:00 am until 5:00 pm at Ohio Village. Attendees are invited to enjoy the heirloom gardens throughout the village.

Members of the Ohio History Connection receive free admission. General admission is $15 for adults, $13 for seniors and $9 for children from 4-12 years of age. Kids three and younger are free. A 5% arts and culture fee is included in the general admission ticket supporting artists and cultural entities along with programs in Columbus. More information is available on the Ohio History Connection website.
