Comedy and country artist coming to Cincinnati
A country singer who is also an actor and comedian is coming to Cincinnati.
The multi-talented Rodney Carrington is a native of Longview, Texas, who developed a cult following as he toured extensively through U.S. comedy clubs. He was frequently heard on syndicated radio shows like “The Bob and Tom Show,” and made his recording debut in 1998 with “Hangin’ with Rodney.” The album utilized the same material he performs in his live shows, and was a blend of original songs and comedy. It charted at No. 73 on the Top Country Albums chart.
In 2000, Capitol Nashville records dropped his second album, “Morning Wood,” which broke into the Top 20, and released his third in 2003. In 2004, he dropped his “Greatest Hits,” a two-disc effort that included material from his previous albums, as well as two new songs, plus “Things We Didn’t Know,” his first venture into non-comedic material. The album rose to No. 3 on Billboard’s Top Comedy Albums chart, and hit No. 11 on Billboard’s Top Country Albums Chart. Its ranking made it Carrington’s first recording to earn Platinum certification.
On stage, his comedy keeps his audiences rolling with laughter, but what truly sets him apart is the way in which he incorporates music into his comedy routines. Carrington will be at the Taft Theatre on April 13. Organizers of events like this often work with poster printing to create suitable advertising for them.
