Winking Lizard to come to Canton
The Winking Lizard, a well-known restaurant and tavern, is hoping to set up shop in Canton by the middle of March. The restaurant will be housed in the building that is currently under construction at Washington Square.
The Canton Winking Lizard is to be launched by Fred Kobzowicz, a resident of Plain Township. Kobzowicz is a partner in the Winking Lizard chain, which is based in Cleveland. He says:
As new businesses move into the Washington Square Plaza, local printing companies are likely to be kept busy. These new stores and restaurants will typically need a variety of printing services, such as flyer printing and catalog printing. Grand opening ceremonies and events are also likely to use banner printing in celebration to announce the opening or to advertise special opening day promotions.
The Winking Lizard boasts a broad menu, with various soups, salads, and “reptizers”, as well as a number of entrees. The Canton restaurant is the 16th planned opening since the first Winking Lizard opened in Bedford Heights in 1983. Currently, 14 Winking Lizard Taverns are in operation. The 15th store, to be located in Columbus, is scheduled to open this February.

“This is a great opportunity for us. We think we’re a very good fit for the North Canton market and that eastern part of Stark County. It’s kind of fun for me, personally, because my eye doctor is in that shopping plaza and my friend owns the UPS store in that plaza.”
