Franksgiving race to return to Canton

After a successful first edition, the Franksgiving 5K will be back in Canton this November, looking to hold a family-friendly distance run.

The year will see runners tackle a five-kilometer track that goes through the streets of downtown Canton. Discount race fees will be provided for runners 18 and under. To go with the hot dog theme, runners can race as part of team Mustard, Ketchup or Onion, with the lowest-paced team receiving a prize.

New for this year will be the “Red Hot Tot Trot,” a free run for ages 12 and under across a shorter distance. Also added is the Mount Beanie Weenie Sprint, where wiener dogs and other canine companions can run alongside their owners. Runs like this often use unique themes as well as marketing tools like Logo Design and social media advertising to help stand out and attract participants.

The run will conclude at a festival area where finishers will receive free hot dogs, chips and drinks. There will also be unique medals for finishers and the highest placed runners, sorted by age group and gender, plus unique themed sweatshirts and other Apparel for purchase. Runners can also enter as a team to receive the all-valuable Wiener Sticker.

The 2026 Franksgiving 5K will take place on the morning of November 14, with the run starting and finishing at Centennial Plaza in Canton.
