Tribute going to the dark side in Canton

A spectacular tribute to a spectacular band is coming to Canton.

The Canton Palace Theatre will be home to the Pink Floyd Laser Spectacular, presented by Paramount. The show uses special lighting effects, video projects on large screens, powerful lasers, and up-to-the-minute effects to accompany Pink Floyd's legendary sounds. The multi-media light and laser show uses the band's original master recordings to provide the sound. The various lasers and video displays are synchronized with the music of Pink Floyd.

The executive producer of the show, Steve Monistere, noted that the band's music is both visual and dramatic, so that even if there is nothing visual occurring, people still have images in their minds. The show builds on this idea by using lighting, video, lasers, and special effects to spark people's imaginations.

The featured work in the first half of the show is “Dark Side of the Moon,” and people need to wear 3-D glasses to fully enjoy the experience. The second half features “The Wall,” and attendees need to wear prism glasses to see the show. The program is open to all ages, from the people who have been rocking to Pink Floyd for 50 years, to the young people just discovering their music.

Paramount’s Pink Floyd Laser Spectacular comes to Canton on April 11 at 8.00 pm. The doors will open at 7.00 pm. Poster printing can provide attractive advertising for this type of event.
