What's Happening in Canton, OH…

Traditional county fair headed to Canton

The Stark County Fair will be marking the traditional end of the summer this year, with a five-day display of entertainment and communication.

The festival grounds aim to contain something for everything, with a “Jungle Island” petting zoo, horse shows, midway-style rides and game, and a market full of local vendors. The event will also showcase young talent from the Canton metro area with performances by high school bands and exhibits for local farmers at the Junior Fair.

Each night of the fair will also feature live entertainment, beginning with concerts by hard-rock veterans Theory of a Deadman and country star Tucker Wetmore. The weekend will feature more traditional rural entertainment including the NTPA Tractor Pull and Smash It Demolition Derby. Equestrian lovers can enjoy draft horse shows with speed and skill programs.

This will be the 175th edition of the Stark County Fair, with its roots in traditional agricultural entertainment. The fair is also involved in the Stark County Ag Society’s annual scholarship program. Traditional fairs like this often use methods like banner printing and signage to put a spotlight on local community groups.

The 2025 Stark County Fair will take place from Tuesday, August 26 to Monday, September 1 at the County Fairgrounds in Canton. Admission will be free for children aged five and under, and discounted on select days.
