As Halloween approaches, people turn to spookier events, such as an upcoming tour in Canton.
Black Cat Tales Tours will be hosting a Ghost Tour of Downtown Canton, during which participants will learn about mayhem, murder, and the macabre as it occurred in the city. The tour covers about 1.3 miles in total, and takes approximately 90 minutes.
The guides cannot guarantee that ghosts will make an appearance, but they note that shadows and orbs have been caught on camera by people on the tour. They welcome cameras as well as equipment used in ghost hunting, but they do prohibit filming.
Children who are interested in folklore and local history are welcome to attend, but parents are informed that while there will be no attempt to deliberately frighten youngsters, adult themes, such as death and murder, will be discussed.
Tour participants are asked to assemble at the left side of the Palace Theatre. There is free street parking on weekends, and weekdays after 5.00 pm. As the tour takes place on the street, it can be difficult to accommodate wheelchair users, but organizers can modify the route slightly if they are given advance notice.
There are no public restrooms on the tour, and it will take place rain or shine. People are asked to plan accordingly for both cases.
The Ghost Tour is scheduled for October 15 at 7.00 pm. Organizers of events like this can use flyer printing to create informative handouts for participants.
