Outdoor movie series to return to Canton

The Centennial Plaza Movie Series will be returning to Canton this summer, offering weekly outdoor screenings of family-friendly movies, kicking off with a showing of Kung Fu Panda 4.

This year’s movie line-up will include family classics like Home Alone and The Wizard of Oz, alongside newer movies like Despicable Me 4 and Harold and the Purple Crayon. Each screening will feature 45 minutes of pre-movie entertainment. Visitors are welcome to stretch out in the outdoor setting with blankets or lawn chairs, as well as bring their own refreshments or dine at Jerzee’s Cafe or other nearby restaurants. The park is a Designated Outdoor Refreshment Area, so alcoholic beverages are permitted.

Movies will be held rain or shine in the heart of downtown Canton. Outdoor screenings like this are popular events hosted by municipalities, often using poster printing and social media to highlight classic films as well as recent hits. The series is hosted by the Palace Theatre, an independent movie theater in Canton, as well as the Downtown Canton Partnership and other local organizations. In addition to free entertainment, the screenings aim to encourage people to visit downtown Canton and frequent local businesses.

The 2025 Centennial Plaza Movie Series will take place every Wednesday from June 4 to August 13 in Canton’s Centennial Plaza.
