The exhibit will be called “Mixed Media Magic: Artistic Alchemy” and features works that incorporates traditional artistic media like painting and sculpture as well as more modern techniques. Martino is a former Stark County science science teacher, and his work is often inspired by and incorporates scientific techniques and chemical reactions. In promotional material, Martino explains his artistic philosophy:
“My art is an abstract reflection of what is within me, what is around me, and the art of how my mind deals with the external influences of both the real and the imagined.”
As part of promotion for the exhibit, the Studios will be hosting an opening reception. This event will include a brief talk by the artist, a live performance by jazz guitarist Dave Marrchione, refreshments and a raffle to win an original art piece by Martino, with proceeds going to charity. Art exhibits like this often use tools like poster printing and special events to help raise awareness as well as educate attendees about the artwork on display.
The opening reception for “Mixed Media Magic: Artistic Alchemy” will take place on the afternoon of February 8, 2025 at Strauss Studios in Canton. The exhibit will be on display until March 14.
