Canton residents will soon be able to learn how to save lives, as Mercy Heart Center holds a lunchtime program at which people can learn CPR.
The program will use the ‘Family & Friends® CPR Anytime® Personal Learning Program’ from the American Heart Association. This is a kit that includes a DVD the user can review as often as they like, as well as a personal manikin (dubbed Mini Anne®) on which the user can practice. The kit is designed so people can learn CPR at their own pace. A mini heart-health program will also be held that same day.
Those who attend the CPR class will be able to take home a CPR Anytime Kit® free of charge. The kit will not certify the person in CPR, but the information contained in it can be used to educate others about CPR techniques. Event organizers could work with a postcard printing company to create cards to mail to the community, announcing the event.
The luncheon is slated for November 12, from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm, in the Mercy Hall Auditorium located at the Mercy Heart Center. The center is in Canton, at 1320 Mercy Drive NW. The lunch and program are free, as is the mini heart-health program. However, space in each event is limited to 50 people. Interested parties should call Mercy Healthcare Connection for reservations.
