Legendary band to play Canton

They were praised by a former president, ranked #4 on Billboard's list of Top Bands and Duos, inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame the first time they were nominated, and now they will appear in Canton.

Chicago took their name from their hometown, but began their career as The Big Thing. They moved to Los Angeles and changed their name to the Chicago Transit Authority, and then simply Chicago. They dropped their debut album, “Chicago Transit Authority,” in 1969, and, in 2014, saw it inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame. In 2017, two band members, songwriters James Pankow and Robert Lamm, won places in the Songwriters Hall of Fame. The two are responsible for some of the band's most well-known hits including “Saturday in the Park,” and “25 or 6 to 4.”

The group has sold over 40 million albums in the United States, and over 100 million worldwide. Their second album, 1970's “Chicago II,” was recently remastered, clearing up the sound that was lost in the original 16-track tapes, and revealing a work as powerful as it was 50 years ago.

A review says:

“The guys were top notch and on it. . . . This is a must see show when they come to a town near you.”

Chicago will be at the Canton Palace Theatre on July 28. Poster printing is frequently used to create edgy advertising for events like this.
