An unusual tea has been put on the schedule in Canton, bringing an event to the city that promises to be both fun and informative.
The event is a tea that will be held at the McKinley Presidential Library & Museum, and its subject is bridal fashions. Kimberly Kenney, the museum's executive director, will host the tea, and discuss brides and weddings of the past, examining what the women wore at the ceremonies, and why. For instance, wedding gowns have not always been white, so a discussion of wedding fabrics, and the various lengths of the veils worn, will take place.
The museum will offer a chance for attendees to see illustrations and photos of brides of the past, and the styles they wore. These include women who lived in the Victorian era, the Flapper era of the 1920s, brides who got married during the Civil War, and even Princess Diana.
The fee for the program is $15, which also includes breakfast sweets as well as coffee or tea. It will be necessary for interested parties to make and pay for their reservations before the event.
‘Tea with the Curator - I Thee Wed: A History of Bridal Fashions in Canton’ is set for February 11, beginning at 10:00 am. The museum is on McKinley Monument Drive Northwest in Canton. Brochure printing can be used to provide informative programs for events like this.
