The National Fishing Lure Collectors Club (NFLCC) will be bringing its Fishing Tackle Show to Canton this September, aiming to lure fishermen as well as memorabilia collectors.
The show will feature all types of fishing equipment, including lures, reels, rods, and tackle, including both old and new products and special rare items. While most items are fishing related, vendors may also offer hunting items, household decor, sporting collectibles, and other vintage items. Attendees can also have their own antique sporting items appraised for free, limited to one tackle box per person. People aged 16 and under can attend for free and will also receive a youth grab bag designed to get them interested in the hobby. Visitors of all ages can also enter into raffles and prize drawings.
The show is hosted by the NFLCC, a non-profit organization which has promoted fishing tackle collecting as a hobby for almost 50 years, and its local Ohio chapter. The organization hosts meetings such as this across the country, often using methods like flyer printing and social media to help reach collectors and hobbyists. Newcomers can purchase a guest membership for the purpose of attending the show. Attendees can also vote on the Best in Show awards in a variety of categories.
The 2024 Akron/Canton Fishing Tackle Show will take place at the Holiday Inn Belden Village on Saturday, November 9.
