Country artist coming to Canton

An artist who has written songs for others, as well as hitting the charts with his own music, is coming to Canton.

Colden Rainey Swindell, who goes by the name Cole Swindell, grew up in Georgia and majored in marketing at Georgia Southern University, where he was a member of the Sigma Chi fraternity. As it turns out, country star Luke Bryan was also a member of the same fraternity, and this connection led to Swindell writing songs for Bryan. The tunes he composed include “In Love with the Girl,” “Roller Coaster,” and “Just a Sip.” He has also composed songs for Scotty McCreery, Thomas Rhett, and Craig Campbell. In addition, Swindell and Lee Brice opened Bryan’s 2014 tour, “That’s My Kind of Night.”

On his own, Swindell has dropped 13 singles, 11 of which have made it to the Top Ten. Of those, eight hit the top of the Country Airplay and/or Hot Country Songs charts. In 2015, Swindell won the ACM New Artist of the Year Award. He released his latest studio album, “Stereotype,” in 2022. A review says:

“Cole Swindell is a great performer. He . . . really played his heart out. . . . He put on one of the best concerts I have ever been to!”

Cole Swindell will be at the Canton Memorial Civic Center on October 21 at 7:00 pm. Concerts like this can be promoted successfully when organizers use poster printing to create advertising.
