The Canton Symphony Orchestra is set to begin its new season soon, and it will start with what it calls ConverZations.
These are discussions, free to the public, which feature music lovers and musicians alike, discussing their favorite subject. The first lecture will be presented by Erik Mann, who is the Executive Director of the Cleveland Classical Guitar Society. His talk is entitled ‘Classical Passion Reborn’.
Mann is on the faculty of the Cleveland Institute of Music, where he teaches guitar pedagogy and guitar literature. He is also a veteran of the concert stage, where he has performed in symphony orchestras, chamber orchestras, and as a soloist. He has previously collaborated with Glimmerglass Opera and the Cleveland Orchestra, and has been a featured soloist with the Erie Chamber Orchestra and the Erie Philharmonic.
Mann will talk about the ways in which audiences all over the world are engaging with and enjoying classical music more than ever before, and in more diverse ways, in spite of fears that the genre is declining.
The series of lectures will be held in the Zimmermann Symphony Center on 17th Street NW in Canton. Attendees are welcome to bring a lunch, and the orchestra will provide light desserts and coffee.
The first ConverZation is slated for September 12 at noon. Organizations like these can benefit by creating Brochures for attendees that recap the discussions.Get a Free Quote for Brochures
