Canton Symphony Orchestra announces upcoming concert

The Canton Symphony Orchestra, under the baton of Dr. Rachel L. Waddell, will celebrate the work of two legendary rock musicians, Prince and David Bowie, at an upcoming concert.

The orchestra will perform some of their best music when it presents an event named ‘The Music of Bowie and Prince’.

Last spring, the orchestra joined forces with a band from the production team Jeans ‘n Classics, and together the two organizations presented a concert of Queen’s music. The orchestra is pairing up with a band for the second time for the Bowie/Prince concert. Among the songs on the playlist are ‘Baby I’m a Star’, ‘1999’, ‘China Girl’, ‘Let’s Go Crazy’, and ‘Modern Love’. The band comprises bass guitar, drums, keyboard, guitar, and vocalists.

Canton Symphony’s president and CEO, Michelle Mullaly, says the orchestra was impressed with the Jeans ‘n Classics musicians when they played the Queen concert, saying the combination of the two organizations brought a unique energy to the evening.

The concert is scheduled for 8:00 pm on November 10 at the Umstattd Performing Arts Hall on 17th Street NW in Canton. Tickets are on sale now. There will be a ‘Rock Legends’ party before the concert, starting at 6:30 pm, at the Zimmermann Symphony Center, adjacent to Umstattd Hall.

Organizations like these can benefit by working with poster printing companies, which can create festive placards for special events.
