Arts show to brighten up Canton

After a long, brutal winter that appears to have been even worse than last year, the Midwest is getting ready to welcome spring with a new exhibit at the Canton Museum of Art.

The show is entitled ‘April Assemblage’, and features works by members of the Canton Artists League.

The league is affiliated with the museum, which allows members to show their works biennially. League members consist of professional, semi-professional, and amateur artists from throughout the area who work in the visual arts. Membership also includes those who are interested in supporting the artists and their works. The League’s mission is to encourage artists to network and help one another, and it does this by arranging exhibits, field trips, workshops, and shows.

This year’s spring show features a wide range of works in various media, including oils, photography, watercolors, acrylic paintings, pottery fiber art, wood carving, colored pencil, and mixed media.

Museum officials might like to work with a poster printing company to create colorful Posters announcing the show. They could be placed throughout Canton’s downtown area, particularly near the museum, to encourage attendance and encourage participation.

The April Assemblage show will run April 4 through May 10 at the museum, 1001 Market Avenue North, in Canton. Further information can be found by calling the museum or visiting its website.
