Two restaurants to open in Mt. Kisco area

Mt. Kisco and Harrison will soon be the homes of new restaurants as part of an expansion plan of Constantine Kalandranis, the owner and chef of 8 North Broadway in Nyack.

The restaurant in Mt. Kisco will be called 251 Lex, a name coming from its location, which was once the address of The Flying Pig on Lexington. It will feature a Mediterranean cuisine, have over 100 seats both indoors and outdoors, and offer a bar and room for a spit roast.

Kalandranis said the ambience will be unpretentious so that people will feel like they are coming into someone’s dining room

The restaurant in Harrison, a short distance south of Mt. Kisco, will be named 273 Kitchen and is located near the train station. The planned opening is this month. It will also feature a Mediterranean cuisine and have 30 seats offering small plates, and a raw bar.

The reason for the selection of the two new locations, according to Kalandranis, was to start using an address theme for the names, and to create a trio of restaurants that were close together, yet far enough apart so as to be able to individualize the cuisine in line with their neighborhoods.

Kalandranis may use flyer printing companies to add literature to his current restaurant, so customers can pass these out to those living in the communities of the new eateries.
